Payconiq has become Wero.

Wero has taken over from Payconiq in Luxembourg to send money, pay in-store, pay online and settle your bills – with the same guarantees, a European dimension and much more.

Why Payconiq handed over to Wero

Wero was designed to simplify payments everywhere in Europe. By becoming Wero, Payconiq joins a European payment ecosystem backed by major banks. The ambition: one single wallet to pay a friend, a merchant or a bill, wherever you are in Europe.
Wero is already available in Belgium, France and Germany – and now in Luxembourg.

  • Still just as simple: the same gesture to send money, pay in-store, pay online or settle a bill.
  • A European dimension on top: Wero already works in Belgium, France and Germany, in addition to Luxembourg. You can now pay or get paid across borders.
  • Still just as secure: the same European and Luxembourg standards for security and data protection.
  • New possibilities to come: Wero keeps evolving, with new features being added progressively for individuals and businesses alike.

Wero is the successor to Payconiq at European scale.

What has changed for you, individuals

If you haven't downloaded Wero yet, do it now. It is no longer possible to pay with the Payconiq app.

  1. Download the Wero app from the App Store or Google Play.

  2. Link your usual bank account.

  3. Keep all your habits

sending money, paying in-store, online, settling your bills – and soon even more.

What has changed for you, merchants and businesses

Whether you accepted Payconiq in-store, on your e-commerce site or for sending invoices, your payment solution is now Wero. The technical and contractual switch was handled by Buckaroo, our partner for business payment acceptance.

What keeps working:

  1. In-store (POS)

your terminals and QR codes now accept Wero; the customer's gesture (scanning a code) stays the same.

  2. E-commerce

the payment integration on your website or app has switched to Wero via Buckaroo; no further action is needed on your side if the migration has been completed.

  3. Invoicing

sending invoices payable by QR code or payment link continues to work via Wero.

In short

Payconiq has become Wero to offer you a broader, richer solution, without losing any of the everyday simplicity it was known for. The gesture doesn't change, the security doesn't change – only the reach grows, with Europe added and new features to come. To find out more, visit our dedicated pages:
